MOOSE SPOTTED AT
MONUMENT LAKE?

Monument, CO - Reports of a moose on the loose have been circulating in the Tri-Lakes area.  Could this be possible?  Our curiousity peaked, and it was decided that further investigation was warranted.

​Tidbits ace reporter, and photographer, Joseph P. Storyteller, found the creature wandering aimlessly about the Monument Lake area.

After a detailed examination of the photo taken by Joseph, it is believed that it was not a moose at all, but rather, a goose—the rare and wiley Colorado Moose Goose.  It is native to Aspen Colorado, and other such ski resort locations.  It is extremely fond of skiing, and is usually seen wearing tiny angora sweaters, and little mittens. 

​Please take caution whenever approaching this goose, since it is known to be somewhat ill tempered, and is normally unwilling to share a ski lift.

THERE IS A MOOSE GOOSE

On October 9th, issue 50, Tidbits reported that the elusive Colorado Moose Goose had made an unprecedented appearance in Monument, Colorado.  We received many inquiries concerning this phenomena, but none as touching as the letter we received from a little girl named Virginia, who lives in Black Forest.

​A child who wanted to believe, and was taunted and ridiculed by several rude classmates.  As I read the letter, a tear fell from my eye when I reached the last line. “So please Mr. Publisher I need to know, my little heart is breaking—is there really a Colorado Moose Goose?”
 
Since our last report, there have been numerous sightings of the Moose Goose in Colorado Springs, Monument and Palmer Lake. In addition, a psychic living in the Gleneagle area wrote in to tell us she had sensed it’s presence.
 
Virginia, let me tell you a little story.  It all happened when I was just a child.  As I understand it, Santa Claus was completing his pre-flight procedures one very cold Christmas Eve.  He was getting ready to sprinkle the reindeer with the magic powder that gives them the ability to fly. You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen—Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, and of course you recall the most famous reindeer of all—that’s correct, Rudolph!

​Anyway, Santa noticed a peculiar glow coming from Rudolph’s nose.  It was blue!  Rudolph had a cold, and Santa was fit to be tied. What was he to do without his lead reindeer? The other reindeer were so accustomed to Rudolph guiding them, that they would never find their way without him.
 
It was Christmas Eve, and old Santa began to panic — at least until he remembered the stories he had heard about the Colorado Moose Goose!
 
Santa was able to get in touch with the Moose Goose, who promptly arrived at the North Pole to save the day.  It led the reindeer, and Santa was able to deliver presents to all the good little boys and girls. So you see, your classmates may chuckle and act like they know it all, but the truth cannot be denied.
 
Yes Virginia, there is a Moose Goose, and we’re pleased as punch there is!
 
Editors Note:  It was recently discovered that Mother Goose was in fact a Colorado Moose Goose.  The female Moose Goose has smaller antlers, and Mother Goose was known to conceal them under her bonnet.
